Dr. W. Dean Belnap is a specialist in pediatrics and child/adolescent psychiatry who obtained his medical degree at the University or Utah, with post-graduate training at the University or Utah, Case Western Reserve and Harvard University Schools of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Psychiatric Association, the Society of Behavioral Pediatrics, the American Society of Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American Neuropsychiatry Association. Dr. Belnap is on the clinical faculty at the University or Utah Medical School. He has been involved in local and state public health and community mental health agencies, and has served as the director or nationwide psychiatric hospitals. He has also been elected to local and state boards of education. Church and humanitarian service assignments have taken him to many parts of the world for extended periods of time. He has written many articles that have been published in various medical journals, and has also enjoyed publishing books for parents and their posterity.
