About Us

Medical Department

The Medical Department of Avalon Hills provides exceptional medical services to all of our clients. Licensed medical practitioners and nurses are available to provide medical care to our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our clients are seen by our Psychiatrist 1-2 times per month at a minimum. The primary care provider sees clients several times throughout the week. Nurses provide a physical assessment daily and more when need arises.

We recognize the concern that family members have regarding their loved ones medical care and we strive to maintain open lines of communication pertaining to any medical concerns which may arise during treatment. Medical staff provides a weekly group to teach the clients about the impact their eating disorder has on their body. Medical practitioners and nurses often spend time with parents/families helping them to understand and alleviate their concerns regarding the health of their loved one.

We tailor our role to do what is necessary in order to meet the needs of each client. If the clients are going white water river rafting, then so are we. Medical professionals are not only monitoring their physical well being, but demonstrating how to live life to its fullest! We strive to create an environment that is full of warmth and compassion, even if that means giving first aid to our distressed pet chameleon.
